Anime Ascendants Units Hub
Roster rules for a live 16-player Roblox tower defense.
Anime Ascendants ships a 100-plus unit roster in a live Roblox tower-defense client. You summon parody anime bodies, place a limited number on the lane, upgrade them with match cash, and optionally stamp a trait. Lobbies hold up to sixteen players online. Desktop and mobile share the same roster, the same placement rules, and the same shiny unlock.
This hub is the roster manual. Rankings live on the tier list. Carry kits live on best units. Economy kits live on farm and support. Dedicated S+ kits now live on Sukuno, Yuto, and Itochi. The Mage Pass exclusive is on Free Ren. Evolutions have their own how to evolve walkthrough.
Rarity is obtainment, not a free win
Common through secret labels tell you how hard a body is to see, not whether it belongs on the board. A legendary Orwin outperforms a poorly upgraded secret you cannot afford to max. Mythics such as Hosino and Megomu are the intended beginner ceiling. Exclusives (Mage Pass Free Ren, group Miki) skip the worst of the gacha. Event secrets such as Madoka are powerful and temporary in availability.
Spend gems on the banner that matches a hole in your squad, not on whatever portrait is glowing. Fifty gems a summon adds up; codes and story clears should feed that loop before you whale a duplicate you cannot place.
Placement and upgrades
Each unit has a placement cost, a placement cap, and an upgrade tree. The first body you plant in a match should usually be the farmer, because cash now is upgrades later. Damage dealers want the longest straight or the tightest turn they can cover. Supports want to stand where their ally packet actually touches the carry—Orwin is not a corner decoration.
Upgrades are the real power spike, especially on evolved units whose last rank changes the attack shape (Itochi’s line coverage is the textbook case). If you max a C-tier starter instead of saving for the mythic in your inventory, you are paying a tax to nostalgia. Sell the habit, not the unit, and rebuild.
Area of effect is a job description
Line, cone, circle, and full-board attacks are not cosmetics. Line nukes (Sukuno, late Itochi) want long paths and boss parades. Full-board splash (Shonks) forgives messy maps and trash waves. Tight circles waste range on empty grass. When two units share a damage number, pick the shape that matches the map you are about to queue.
Hybrid bodies exist. Itochi deals damage and applies burn. Gambler swings with rolls. Charmi (Love) amps Bolma’s money and team damage. Read the unit as a job, then look at the units tier list for where that job currently sits.
Shiny unlocks at level 5
Shiny variants are cosmetic plus a statistical bump, and the shiny hunt is gated until account level 5, with better odds as you climb. Do not stall story at level 3 to chase a sparkle. Clear maps, claim codes, hit five, then decide whether a shiny farmer is worth the extra summons. Increased odds are a late-account luxury, not a tutorial objective.
If a lobby flexes shinies, remember that an evolved non-shiny carry with Ascendant still outruns a shiny D-tier starter. Sparkle is not a tier.
Roles on a 100-plus roster
Sort the pile into four buckets before you care about names:
- Carry damage — Sukuno, Yuto, Free Ren, Shonks, Goju, Hosoko, and live event nukes.
- Farm — Bolma first, Senko as the accessible backup.
- Support — Orwin’s ally damage, Charmi’s money-and-damage amp, Gambler’s hybrid kit, Itochi when you need burn plus damage.
- Beginner crutches — Hosino, Megomu, Touci, group Miki.
Everything else is a stepping stone or a collection entry. The roster looks huge because it is; your match board is still five or six jobs. Build those jobs, then collect.
A 100-plus roster looks intimidating until you sort it by job: one farmer, one buffer, one or two carries. Shiny hunting can wait until level 5; evolution and placement limits cannot. Use the unit pages under this hub — best units, farm and support, plus the Sukuno, Yuto, and Itochi kits — before you spend another summon.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for codes, traits, summons, and story progress.
How many units are in Anime Ascendants?
More than one hundred across rarities, events, and evolutions. You place a handful per match, so sort by role instead of trying to max the index.
When do shinies unlock?
Account level 5, with increased odds as you keep playing. Do not freeze story progress to hunt them earlier.
What should I upgrade first in a match?
The farmer, then the carry. Support comes online once cash is stable. See farm and support for the wave-one order.
Where are the actual rankings?
Unit ranks are on the units tier list. Trait ranks are on the traits list. This hub explains how the roster works.
