Anime Ascendants Itochi, the Hybrid S+
Limited event, burn plus damage, line coverage on the last evo upgrade.
Itochi is the S+ hybrid in live Anime Ascendants. Damage is real. Burn is the headline. The last evolution upgrade adding line-area coverage is the breakpoint that keeps the name in first-row conversations. Before that upgrade it is a flexible high-A. After that upgrade it is an S+ that can stand in mixed teams without feeling like a wasted damage slot. Public lobbies are still 16-player online tower defense on desktop and mobile. Teammates can cover a leak. They cannot finish the event shop for you.
Itochi is a limited Itachi / Itochi event unit. When that shop is open, it outranks a random ten-pull. When the window is closed, do not invent a standard-banner rate. You do not pull finished Itochi as a 50-gem day-one Secret, and you should not stall Cursed Academy or the UT raid because a year-old clip still has the portrait on screen.
Pair this page with events before you spend the gem stash, and with how to evolve before you dump crystal stones. Compare the other S+ names on Sukuno and Yuto.
What the kit actually does
Base Itochi already deals and supports. Burn is the extra job: named enemies and stacked parades take the DoT while the body still shoots. That is why the name shows up in hybrid conversations instead of in a pure-nuke footnote.
The last evolution upgrade is the kit change. Line coverage on that rank is the reason you do not leave the event at the base form. A half-finished Itochi is a burn stick with a damage number. A finished Itochi is a line-AoE hybrid that can share a board with Bolma and Orwin without asking for a second carry slot.
Line AoE wants a path segment. Enemies stacked on a corridor, boss parades, and long straights all take the packet. Wide pads and fan-out trash are a worse match — that is Shonks or another full-AoE name, not a reason to bench Itochi, just a reason to place it where the line is real.
Late upgrades matter more than the portrait. Cash has to exist. Raid bosses and infinite HP bars are sponges; the hybrid only looks unfair after the tree is paid. Shiny coats wait until account level 5. An evolved non-shiny Itochi with a real trait still outruns a sparkly starter.
How to get Itochi (the event window)
- Check events. If the Itochi shop is not in the client, stop. Off-window, play the next limited or build Shonks and Free Ren. Do not invent a 50-gem rate.
- When the event is live, finish its shop before you dump gems on a standard banner. Event-shop evolution items are the kit. Skipping them is how people own a costume.
- Pull or earn the base unit through the event path the live UI actually shows. This wiki will not publish a fake standard-banner percentage for a limited that is not in that pool.
- Collect the event-shop evo items. Raise the base enough that it survives the farm. You do not need a perfect trait yet.
- Evolve through the tree until the last upgrade adds line coverage. That rank is the S+ breakpoint. Stopping one upgrade early is the whole reason the unit “feels like A.”
Itochi is not a story drop. Itochi is not a UT raid 1–2% like Yuto. Itochi is not a Cursed Academy evolution like Sukuno. Three S+ names, three doors. Mixing the doors is how accounts spend a week in the wrong queue.
If you cannot clear the event acts yet, keep a temporary carry and come back. Do not park Ascendant on a unit you have not evolved. The best units page is the rest of the carry manual if the shop is still a few acts away.
Trait: Ascendant or Singularity, not Golden
Ascendant (one placement, personal stats plus a global buff) is the trait you want on this hybrid once it is the unit you actually place. Singularity is the personal-damage alternative with the same one-placement tax. Stop on either. Do not “try for the other one” until the rest of the squad is playable.
Golden does not belong here. Golden is the farm trait. Putting Golden on Itochi turns an S+ hybrid into a confused farmer and leaves Bolma on a worse roll. Putting Ascendant on Orwin is the matching mistake: the one-place cap fights the aura.
Because Ascendant and Singularity cap placements at one, the first tile you confirm is the tile you live with. Preview the range on the longest path. In a 16-player public, do not drop the one-place hybrid on a pocket someone else already filled.
Secondary boss traits (Berserker, Slayer) are acceptable on a second body, not as an excuse to skip the mythic roll on Itochi once tokens exist. Range I is a reroll. Miki is to the right in the Summon room; use the trait planner before you dump tokens.
Itochi is a hybrid, not a support. Burn does not make it Orwin. Do not put Supernova here as a first choice and call it a buffer. Orwin still holds the aura slot. Itochi holds the carry-or-flex slot.
Pair with Bolma and Orwin
Itochi does not replace the economy. A lobby with three Itochi clones and no farmer still starves, and the last evo upgrade never gets paid. The default triangle is:
- Carry / hybrid: Itochi on the long path, Ascendant or Singularity, last evo rank finished.
- Support: Orwin, aura overlapping that path. Supernova if you have it. Do not put the one-place mythic on the buffer.
- Farm: Bolma on wave 1 (Senko until Bolma drops), Golden.
Place farm first, then Orwin where the packet touches the future carry tile, then Itochi. Upgrade farm until income is a slope, then dump into Itochi. By mid-waves the hybrid should be the unit doing the work. Extra C-tier bodies steal cash from the tree that makes line coverage look unfair.
Lock the three-slot idea in the team builder. Farm and support is the economy chapter if Golden is still on the wrong unit.
When to pick Itochi versus Sukuno versus Yuto
You do not need all three S+ names. You need one that you actually obtained this week.
Pick Itochi when the limited event is live, you can finish the shop, and you want damage plus burn with line coverage on the last rank. Mixed teams and boss parades both take the hybrid. Off-window, do not stall the account waiting for a rate that is not in the 50-gem pool.
Pick Sukuno when you want a dedicated line-AoE nuke and you can run Cursed Academy. Sukuno is an evolution from Itadoki. The farm is a legend stage, not an event shop. See the Sukuno guide.
Pick Yuto when the content is a named-enemy raid window and you can stomach a 1–2% UT drop plus a raid-shop evo row. Burst is the job. See the Yuto guide and the raids guide.
If the Itochi event and a Berserk raid overlap, finish the shop that leaves. Permanent legend farms wait. Limited rows do not. Confirm the live order on the units tier list.
Crystal stones, duplicates, and Magic Tokens that could finish Itochi should not go to Niruto Kid, Goko, or Luffo. Those starters have no evolution ceiling. Feed order when the event is live: buy the shop evo items → evolve through the line-coverage rank → Golden the farm → trait the hybrid. Reverse that order and you own a pretty Itachi and a broke raid.
Itochi is the limited-event S+ hybrid: burn plus damage, line AoE on the last evolution upgrade, shop items while the window is open. Do not invent a standard-banner rate off-window. Plant it with Bolma and Orwin, put Ascendant or Singularity on the carry — never Golden — and pick it over Sukuno or Yuto only when the event shop is the door you can actually walk through this week.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for codes, traits, summons, and story progress.
How do I get Itochi?
Play the limited Itochi / Itachi event and finish the event shop for the evolution items. Off-window, do not invent a 50-gem rate. Calendar is on events.
Why does Itochi feel weaker than the S+ row?
The last evolution upgrade adds line coverage. That rank is the breakpoint. Finish the tree using how to evolve before you reroll the unit.
What trait should I put on Itochi?
Ascendant or Singularity. Both are one-placement DPS traits. Do not put Golden on Itochi, and do not treat burn as a reason to Ascendant Orwin instead.
Who do I pair with Itochi?
Bolma (Golden) on wave 1 and Orwin’s aura on the carry tile. Lock that triangle in the team builder.
Should I raise Itochi or Sukuno?
Raise the one whose door is open. Itochi is a limited event. Sukuno is a Cursed Academy evolution. Compare kits on the Sukuno guide.
Is Yuto a substitute if I missed the Itochi event?
Yuto is a different door: UT raid at about 1–2% plus a raid shop. Burst, not burn. See the Yuto guide and raids.
